Nice to meet you
Hello, I am Guste Ovcinnikova!
My initial interest in psychology has started early on in high school and developed into my dream to consult people. Two Psychology degrees and lenghty experience of living abroad has shown me that everyone's story matters. I believe that your struggles are real and important, and you are brave speak out about them.
In my work, I like to encourage self-reliance and self-discovery, meaning that I prefer to take the role of a mentor, rather than giving the answers. My methodology is a combination of techniques from various psychoterapeutic paradigms that I have practiced myself.
After our work together, clients report understanding better their own feelings and other people's, they learn better coping strategies and relaxations. Everyone says they become more mindful and conscious of themselves, self-care becomes more important. Try it yourself and see how your life improves.
Your story matters. You matter.

Some of the methods I use
Cognitive therapy techniques
When working with anxiety and self-esteem issues, the focus is on automatic thoughts and behaviour that follows. Thought registration worksheet is a quick way to identify negative patterns and false assumptions you might have.
Therapeutic writing
When dealing with your inner critic, feeling low or lost in life, certain writing exercises can help you find the answers within yourself. Whether it is traumatic event re-writting or free flow morning pages, we find what suits you best.
Mindfulness practices
To better deal with stress and anxiety mindfulness meditation practices can give back control and ease your mind. Mindful breathing and attention shifting exercises can teach you to be in the "here and now" moment.
Bibliotherapy
Sometimes I recommend clients to read on similar difficulties they had or might be having. Afterwards we analyse the feelings and thoughts that arise to learn what it says about you.
